Updated: April 5, 2026
We compared 7 smart collars — GPS trackers, health monitors, and anti-bark — so you can pick the right one for your dog. Honest data, no hype.
We evaluated all 7 collars across five criteria: health monitoring features, EU data compliance and availability, battery life under normal use, app store ratings (App Store + Google Play), and 2-year total cost of ownership. Specifications sourced from official product pages as of April 5, 2026. Camicoo is our own product — we acknowledge this openly and assign genuine wins to competitors where the data supports it.
Quick summary: If you want GPS tracking, choose Tractive DOG 6 (budget, EU) or Fi Series 3+ (premium, now in EU). If you want health monitoring, choose PetPace 3.0 (vet-grade, expensive), SATELLAI Collar Go (GPS + health), or Camicoo (affordable, with anti-bark). Camicoo is the only collar combining health monitoring AND anti-bark detection — no other product does both.

Path 2: GPS Tracking. If your dog runs off-leash, choose Tractive DOG 6 (budget, EUR 69) or Fi Series 3+ (3-month battery, ~$299). Both have EU coverage.

Each Collar Reviewed
Camicoo
Camicoo is a Dutch smart collar that does something no other product in this comparison does: it combines continuous health monitoring with intelligent bark detection in a single device. The collar tracks skin temperature via a medical-grade MAX30208 sensor, monitors activity patterns with a BMI270 6-axis IMU, and analyzes sleep quality. The anti-bark system uses dual-sensor AI fusion achieving a 3% false positive rate. Vibration and tone only — no shock, no spray.
Who it’s for: Dog owners dealing with barking problems who also want early illness detection via temperature and activity patterns. Based in NL/EU, dog mostly on-leash or at home.
Who it’s NOT for: Owners who need real-time GPS tracking. Camicoo monitors health and bark — it does not track location.
Tractive DOG 6
If you also need indoor visibility into your dog while you’re out: see our pet camera comparison 2026 — 9 models tested side by side.
Tractive is the market leader in European GPS pet tracking. The DOG 6 (released early 2025) delivers 14-day battery life with Power Saving Zones. The Premium plan (EUR 8/mo) now includes heart rate, respiratory rate, bark detection, and scratch detection. At EUR 69 for the device, it is the cheapest GPS option in this comparison.
Who it’s for: Budget-conscious GPS tracking. EU coverage, 14-day battery. Available on bol.com in NL and Belgium.
Who it’s NOT for: Owners who want health monitoring as the primary feature. Tractive is fundamentally a GPS tracker with health as an add-on.
SATELLAI Collar Go
SATELLAI launched the Collar Go at CES 2026 combining 5-GNSS GPS tracking with AI-powered health analysis (PetSense). Built-in LTE with eSIM covering 115 networks across 51 countries — no local SIM needed when traveling. IP68 water resistant.
Who it’s for: Owners who want both GPS and AI health monitoring in one device, especially frequent travelers. The eSIM roaming is a genuine differentiator.
Who it’s NOT for: Owners who need anti-bark functionality. SATELLAI does not detect or correct barking.
Invoxia Smart Dog Collar
Invoxia takes a radically different approach: no monthly subscription. The French company uses radar sensors (not optical) to measure heart rate and respiratory rate through fur — no skin contact needed. Also includes GPS tracking and lost-dog alerts.
Who it’s for: Subscription-averse owners who want health vitals and GPS without ongoing monthly payments. Especially owners of small or long-haired breeds.
Who it’s NOT for: Owners who want anti-bark features or extensive app features. Invoxia’s app is more limited than Tractive’s or Camicoo’s.
Fi Series 3+
Fi holds the battery life crown: up to 3 months on a single charge with GPS off. Uses LTE-M cellular connectivity for power efficiency. IP68 rated, premium build quality. Expanded to EU markets in March 2026.
Who it’s for: Owners who prioritize battery life above all else and are willing to pay a premium for the best GPS tracking experience.
Who it’s NOT for: Budget-conscious owners. At ~$528/year, Fi costs 4x more than Tractive for similar GPS functionality.
PetPace 3.0
PetPace is the only collar with genuine veterinary credentials. The 3.0 packs 8+ patented sensors: temperature, pulse, respiration, activity, posture, calories, HRV, and pain indicators. Used by veterinary clinics for post-surgical and chronic disease monitoring. IP66+IP68 dual rating.
Who it’s for: Dogs with chronic conditions or senior dogs whose vet recommends continuous monitoring.
Who it’s NOT for: Casual owners. This is a medical device at a medical price point (EUR 444-558/year). No GPS, no bark detection.
Halo Collar 5
Halo is a niche product: virtual GPS fencing for off-leash areas, created with Cesar Millan. Uses GNSS positioning for customizable virtual boundaries with audio warnings, vibration, and optional static correction (shock). Daily charging required (20-24 hr battery).
Who it’s for: US-based owners who want a virtual GPS fence for off-leash areas.
Who it’s NOT for: Anyone in Europe (not available). Anyone who objects to static correction — Halo uses shock as part of the training system. Illegal in the Netherlands.
The Market Gap: Health + Anti-Bark
Every smart collar owner faces the same decision. We call it “The Three Choices”:
Choice 1: Track location. GPS collars (Tractive, Fi, Halo) tell you WHERE your dog is. They don’t tell you HOW your dog is feeling.
Choice 2: Monitor health. Health collars (PetPace, Invoxia, SATELLAI) tell you about vitals. They don’t help with behavioral problems like barking.
Choice 3: Health + behavior. Only Camicoo combines health monitoring WITH bark management in a single collar. Until now, this required buying two separate devices.
Most comparisons group GPS trackers together. But there’s a growing segment of owners who don’t need GPS — they need to understand their dog’s health and manage barking behavior. Camicoo fills that gap at EUR 59.95, using AI to distinguish real barks from background noise with a 3% false positive rate. The anti-bark approach: vibration and tone only. No shock, no spray, no citronella.
Total Cost of Ownership (2 Years)
The cheapest-looking collar can cost EUR 847 more over 2 years. Subscription costs add up fast. Here is what each collar actually costs over two years of ownership.
| Collar | Device | Monthly | Year 1 | Year 2 | 2-Year Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Invoxia | ~EUR 100 | EUR 0 | ~EUR 100 | EUR 0 | ~EUR 100 |
| Camicoo (Waker) | EUR 59.95 | EUR 5.49 | EUR 126 | EUR 66 | EUR 192 |
| Tractive DOG 6 | EUR 69 | EUR 5-13 | EUR 129+ | EUR 60+ | EUR 189+ |
| SATELLAI Go | EUR 80 | EUR 6 | EUR 152 | EUR 72 | EUR 224 |
| Camicoo (Standard) | EUR 109.95 | EUR 10.99 | EUR 242 | EUR 132 | EUR 374 |
| Fi Series 3+ | ~$299 | ~$19 | ~$528 | ~$228 | ~$756 |
| PetPace 3.0 | EUR 300 | EUR 12-21 | EUR 444+ | EUR 144+ | EUR 588+ |
| Halo 5 | $799 | incl. | ~$900+ | ~$100+ | ~$1,000+ |
Invoxia wins on pure cost with zero subscription. Tractive is cheapest for GPS. Camicoo is the best value for combined health + anti-bark at EUR 192 over 2 years.
